A Picture Sometimes Says It All

DSC_0433

We have heard the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words.  If this picture could talk, what would it be saying?

This week, I would like for you to write a caption for this picture. Why is this broom standing alone in the kitchen?  Tell me your thoughts on this photo.

Then I would like for you to locate and post a picture that speaks volumes to you.  This picture may be one you come across in a book, magazine, or on the interenet.  It might even be a photograph that you have taken yourself.  I can’t wait to see what you find and post!

Here is your chance to get really creative.   Buy a small pumpkin about the size of an apple and decorate it like your favorite character.  The crazier the better.  This is your chance to punk out your pumpkins.  When you have your pumpkin decorated, bring it to school and we will take pictures for our Punked Out Pumpkin Parade on Friday, October 30.   ✹Be sure to leave a comment to let us know what you think of our Halloween activities!

Homecoming ’09

images-2It’s that time again…White Oak Homecoming.  As you know, here in the valley of the Roughnecks, homecoming only happens every three years.   Our campus is fired up and excited about all the events for the ‘09 season.  For any parent interested in taking their child to the WOHS pep rally, the time for this event is 2:30.  All students with a note to attend will be down by the Intermediate School office by 1:45 for parent pick up.  This will allow you plenty of time to walk or drive up to the high school gym to get a good seat.  Also, Roughneck Days will be going on all day Saturday.  The parade will kick off around 10:30.  Hope to see many exes and former students this weekend.  Come on out and support your Roughnecks!!!  GO NECKS!

imagesAfter visiting Miss T’s Blog, I noticed that  she and her students came up with  a great list of ideas for leaving worthwhile comments.  I hope that many of the Bright Spots group will go visit her site and read through the class list.  I truly believe that these are some great suggestions for you to follow when blogging.  Thanks, Miss T and class!
