fallleafbackground-thumb With the holidays here, it is time to pause and give thanks for all of our blessings.  I am so thankful for the wonderful families and coworkers that I work with on a daily basis.  It is a joy to be a part of such a great community!  I hope that each of you have a wonderful holiday with lots of family time and delicious foods.  Enjoy your break for the next few days, and shop till you drop on Friday for all of those great Christmas bargains.  Christmas is just around the corner. YEA!   I look forward to seeing you all back in your places on Monday morning!  Happy Thanksgiving!

Final Blog Challenge for ’09

20131

It is hard to believe that this is the final challenge for ’09.  Miss Wyatt has challenged us to create avatars, comment on others’  blogs, add widgets, comment appropriately, and much, much, more.  As a class, it was our first attempt in blogging and our goal was to learn how to use our blog and how to communicate effectively with other students from across the globe.  Wow!  What an adventure it has been.  We have learned so much and have much more to learn.   Thanks, Miss Wyatt, for creating this challenge.  We look forward to an exciting 2010 challenge and continued communication with students from around the world!

For our final challenge, here is what Miss Wyatt would like to know.

Week 10 challenge

  1. What topics would you want to write about if you take part in another challenge next year?
  2. What questions would you ask overseas students that they could then answer in a post?

Read any good books lately?

611-bkani

Recently I found a new blog where the students were giving book reviews for what they had been reading.  I enjoyed reading what they had to say and thought that this would be an excellent opportunity for us to share some thoughts on the books we have been reading.  What is your favorite book?  What did you like the most about the book?  What genre was the book?  Be sure to check out the book reviews on the Huzzah Blog and see if they are reading any of our favorites!

Keep the Conversation Going

Most of you are doing a great job commenting on our blog.  I do want to remind you to not use your last names when visiting a blog.  Also, I really want you to work on keeping the conversations going with other blogs.  Be sure to leave a comment on the things that you find interesting on other sites.  Invite them to come visit our blog and leave comments for us.  This has been a great learning experience for us all, so keep commenting!

Challenge Week 7

Challenge week 7  Favorite Holiday/Vacation

2009-10-21_2139

I love the beach.  If I could take a vacation during the holidays, you would find me sitting on the beach with a great novel reading while listening to the ocean waves break along the seashore.  I can almost hear those waves and seagulls now.  Guess I will just have to dream about it for now.  Maybe I will be able to head to one of those beautiful white, sandy beaches soon.

What is your favorite holiday or vacation that you have already been on? Why is it a favorite?

Remember to tell your readers answers to questions beginning with who, where, when, what, how, why.

  • Who did you go with?
  • Where did you go?
  • When did you go?
  • What was the best part of the holiday/vacation?
  • How did you get there?
  • Why did you go to that place? etc etc

Include some links so your reader can visit the place you went to or want to go to. Try to find some images of the holiday or vacation place.
