They are all GREAT pumpkins. You had some really hard work put into those pumpkins and a lot of creativity. Great Job Brightspots!

Our whole class watched your pumpkin making together using the digital projector. We thought all your pumpkins were really creative, really cool. Not many people celebrate Halloween here in New Zealand. But some people do and they have fun trick or treating. Only two from our class did that. 5 of us went to a Halloween party. It’s not really part of our traditions, its more of an American tradition that some people have followed here. How long did it take to make the pumpkin creatures? What did you do with them when finished? How did the people in your class celebrate Halloween?

Hi Miss T and class. We are sorry this reply is late. Our class met this past Friday and tried to reply back when the internet at our school went down. It has been a busy week and I just now sat down to check out our site again.

We were able to discuss your comment to our post and discovered that almost all of our group had attended some sort of Halloween or Fall Type Festival with games and cake walks. As for going door to door trick or treating for candy, half of the group did this. Most of the students also dressed up in costumes like sports players, famous music stars, clowns, etc.

We did enjoy making our pumpkin creatures. Some of the students spent several days creating their character, while others worked for a few hours. All the fourth grade students were also able to paint pumpkins with us the afternoon of October 30. Most of the students were able to design and paint their creatures in about an hour. While the pumpkins were drying, the students paraded through the classroom to admire each others handiwork. We also displayed the Bright Spots’ pumpkins in the library for the entire school grades K through 5 to enjoy.

Now are students are preparing for our first major holiday, Thanksgiving. We have a post on our blog about this, so go check it out. We are also dressing our Turkeys for Thanksgiving and will have pictures posted soon.

Thanks again for your interest in our Halloween activities!

Thanks, Andrew. We had a great time creating and sharing our pumpkins with the other grade levels in our school. Our group will meet again this Friday morning, so we will pull up your class site and comment to your class then. Have a great rest of the week! Mrs. C.

Various kinds of pumpkins are they. Your class has creative students. I love their idea in making the pumpkins become something as their imagination. I don’t even think that these pumpkins can become spider, spongesbop, bird, a figure on toys movie. All of those pumpkins are colorful. I like it and thanks for sharing this video.

That is nice experience to kids, I think. It educates kids on how to be creative and explore their ability in drawing. It is also important to develop the function of brain.
